This prestigious event has become the major fund-raiser for the USA Trials des Nations Team. Every year a raffle gives away major prizes, even including new Trials motorcycles. It is the most attended non-series trial in the US and is produced by the American Trials Association in California.

El Trial was founded in 1970 by Fred Belair to support promising young riders. It would help send them to compete in Europe and learn from the experience. Bernie Schreiber, 1978 World Champion, was one of those young American riders that benefited from Fred’s efforts.

ETdE features all levels of competition in the morning, followed by nearly World Class sections in the afternoon. All of the Championship riders wait for the spectators to arrive before they start riding at each of a handful of sections. This way everyone gets to see each and every rider in each section.
